What makes good skincare?

or a better question, what makes skincare.. good?

It’s a question that’s buzzed around the back of our minds for years.

Do quality ingredients make quality skincare?

Yes and no.

Should we pump as many actives into one product as possible, all working in the same linear direction, to create a single super product?

Not really.

Skincare is actually complicated because our skin is quite complicated.

Each ingredient has years and years of research behind it. Bench scientists analyzing and extracting. Field scientists running experiments and panels. So how do we know when ingredients are best as loners or team players?

Only experience can show what works best. Our philosophy is to pair complementary actives in concentrations that make sense: that is, within the active range. Couple these actives with a penetrating enhancing base for even better results. Keep it balanced: either on the fatty acid profile or on the pH. Finally, use a complementary preservative - the one that can do the job of keeping the formula fresh and nothing more.

Beyond the precise formulations, we wanted this skincare line to be accessible to everyone. Hence, the $15 price point and the gender-neutral consideration in packaging and formulation.

Accessibility goes beyond just the look and feel of the product, we believe that true accessibility to the skincare community comes from learning. We have compiled all our years of knowledge and have created a space to share it with you. Knowledge is power, and power builds confidence.
